Properties:
It is slightly soluble in water, hardly soluble in acid and alkali solution, insoluble in most organic solvents, also insoluble in hydrofluoric acid and liquefied hydrogen fluoride.
Usages: it is used as chemical reagent, glass etchant, antiseptic, disinfector, analytical reagent, the solvent in beryllia producing beryllium metal and the treatment of the surface of silicon steel plate. It is also used as the oxidant in producing pottery and magnesium alloy.
