| St. Francis School Staff Cooperative Multipurpose Society was officially registered with the Lagos State Government (Federal Republic of Nigeria) in 2009. Hitherto we have been in operation since the government officials inaugurated us in June 2006. The cooperative society was primarily founded to empower the staff of the school economically. As a multipurpose cooperative society, the law permits it to go into any legitmate busness. It just acquired 8 acres of land in a neighbouring community in Ogun State, primarily to meet the needs of its members. The society has a membership strenght of about 75. The total monthly savings of member is between #350,000.00 & #380,000.00. The society gives out loans to the tune of between #650,000.00 & #1,040,000.00 monthly to members. However there is need to invest excess funds in income-yielding ventures for the benefit of members. And that is where we are. I am the President of the society and a founding member. |
