Meat Products of India is a 100% Kerala Government Undertaking. The company is situated at Edayar, Koothattukulam in Ernakulam District. Its campus covers an area of 25 acres of land. The campus of the company is protected by side walls and the livestock farm, feed milling unit, Carcass rendering plant, Effluent treatment plant are inside the campus apart from the meat plant. There are different sections of the Company and there are separate stock systems maintained by the various sections of the Company. The Company uses modern equipments for various functions and is maintained by separate sections. The Meat Processing Factory was started under the guidance of Danish Government by the Department of Animal Husbandry in 1968. In the meantime, Meat Products of India Limited was registered as a subsidiary Company of Kerala Agro Industries Corporation in the year 1973 with the sole objective of establishing an Export Oriented Meat Processing Unit.
