Cachaca is the Brazilian distilled made from Sugar Cane. It is NOT RUM, which is made from Molasses. That's why cachaca can only be called so if it comes from Brazil, where it has been made since the 1560s.
It is also the main ingridient in the making of Caipirinhas, the Brazilian drink which has recently been discovered by the world.
