3P Gulf Group, the specialised packaging products manufacturer, has announced that it will raise the production capacity of 3P stretch film to 150,000 tonnes annually by the first quarter of 2009.
An agreement for the expansion, which a company statement said was the second, was signed by the group’s executive chairman Ali Hashim.
It said the increase from the capacity upgrade would be 80,000 tonnes.
Production capacity in 2007 was 70,000 tonnes. Following the expansion, the company will be able to produce 110,000 tonnes of stretch film this year and 150,000 tonnes in 2009.

The company also said it had signed offtake agreements with major packaging distributors in Europe and leading beverage bottling companies in the Middle East and worldwide who will take care of most of the additional capacity.
